Roi D. Banet is the founder of The Immigration Lawyer. His practice focuses on complex Dutch immigration and nationality matters, advising private clients, international businesses and institutions where specialist expertise, sound judgement and discretion are essential.
Before establishing The Immigration Lawyer, Banet spent 13 years leading the Immigration and Nationality Law practice at one of the Netherlands’ leading law firms in this field, based in Amsterdam.
International matters.
His clients include private individuals, elite athletes, internationally acclaimed recording artists - including Global Top 40 performers - businesses and government organisations. His experience spans sensitive and complex matters in which international mobility, residence and citizenship intersect with family life, prominent international careers and commercial interests. He brings a careful understanding of the personal, professional and reputational considerations that accompany these cases.
Research & teaching.
Alongside his practice, Banet contributes to legal scholarship through academic publications and guest lectures at universities and other academic institutions. His engagement with legal research informs his approach to complex questions of immigration and nationality law. In 2016, he contributed to the Dutch National Ombudsman’s investigation into the loss of Dutch nationality and the resulting report, Rapport Verlies Nederlanderschap.
Languages & perspective.
Banet is fluent in Dutch, English and Hebrew and is a sworn translator between Dutch and Hebrew.
